Description
How to prepare for, avoid, and survive emergencies in a wilderness setting with minimal resources is essential knowledge for any outdoor enthusiast.
This course covers established survival principles and protocols for managing emergencies in any remote environment with an emphasis on Southwest Desert hazards. From preparation and planning to shelter, water, and animal encounters, this class covers a wide range of information. Using the internationally recognized principles of survival as well as current study and decades of experience in the field, this is the self-reliance know-how that will help you when things go bad. Anyone playing or working in the outdoors should have these in their mental toolbox.
Through live demonstrations, hands-on exercises, Q&A, and detailed PowerPoint presentations, you will get the practical knowledge that can keep you alive!

- The needs: Water, Shelter, Fire, First Aid, Food, and Sleep.

CLASS SIZE is kept small (15 attendees) to facilitate questions and individual attention.
CLASS INCLUDES: A 10% discount for all future purchases as a part of the Arizona Hiking Shack/AHS Rescue Club program.

CONFIRMATION & REMINDER EMAIL for your class is automatic after you checkout. THEN, you will receive a REMINDER EMAIL a day or 2 before the class date that will contain all the information you will need about class. IF YOU DO NOT SEE A CONFIRMATION OF PURCHASE EMAIL you may want mark us as a safe sender in your email settings.
ALL AHS CLASSES HAVE A 4-PERSON MINIMUM. If minimum is not met, class may be cancelled. We send reminder emails to all registered for class 1 or 3 days before class with options for refunds or transfers to another date or class.
IF WE CANCEL class for low attendance, (It doesn’t happen often, but can…) payment is refunded or applied to another class or event, your choice. Cancellations take place 72 hours prior to class if needed via email.
IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL PRIOR to 72 hours before class, you may request a transfer to another class date or a full refund. Any cancellations by attendees LESS than 72 hours prior to class cannot be refunded but can be applied to the next available class.
IF YOU ARE SICK OR FEELING ILL on the class date, please email your instructor, and we will honor your registration on another class date.
